Composer and pianist Joan Arnau Pàmies’ debut album under the pseudonym of Inlet Industry evokes the decay of a civilization. Structured into two parts of four tracks each, Dialectics of Collapse explores common science fiction themes, including parallel universes (“1979 Beta”), interdimensional existence (“Altered Forms 1 & 2”), and interstellar travel (“Departure”). Pàmies’ imaginative soundscapes emanate from his interest in early electronic music, 80s synth-pop, and ambient, thus making this album a highly emotional adventure far from the composer’s more cerebral, experimental work.
All music written and performed by Joan Arnau Pàmies.
